I love my doggies!! and I adore their fur!!! Personally, tests that are conducted in such a barbaric manner just frustrates me. Shearing furs and skin of animals for the sake of profit doesn't justify an action that is normally undertaken by someone who possesses humane characteristics. Animals all over the world have been subjected to torture and undergone experimental tests which resulted in some being disposed as garbage. This usually occurs when a failed experiment proves too costly to maintain or when a project is scrapped off the table. As a result, animals in abundance are let loose into the wild and left to fend for themselves. However, it seems that people are still unaware of the controversies surrounding the animals in the fashion industry. Probably with sufficient release of information to the public about the consequences of buying animal products like fur, fewer tests will be run and animals will experience the taste of a freedom which has been denied to them for so long.
When I first saw the topic, I said to myself I will definitely be on the "for" side. I love animals and I do not like the fact that they are being used in experiments. However, when I think about this more, I realize that if animals were not the ones the tests are done on, then humans would be used. I think I would rather choose the loss of an animal rather than the loss of a human. However, some animals are more valuable than some humans, but the qualification process would be hard. In conclusion, I love animals and do no want them to get tested or hurt, but some things should be sacrificed for a greater cause.
i think i will go for use animal testing for drugs but not in the fashion industry. because for some reason, human lives are more valuable than animals. honesty i am a big fashion fan but i love my animal friends as well...
i still remember a post i saw in my home town. in the picture there is a women wearing some fur clothing and there is a slogan goes like " dont you know they(animal) will feel cold when you deprive their clothing.." i believe most animals cannot live without their furs, so wearing fur stuff is killing animals~!
in the other hand, in my opinion, fashion is not only luxury but also new ideas for lives. wearing recyclable materials clothing should be a new fashion~!!
I definitely disagree with the idea that animals are used for fashion industries. I saw a lot of pictures of seals that were tortured by people. It was really hard for me to just watch them. Because in that picture, the seals and the ice where they lay down were covered with blood. There were a couple of people right next to them with the hammer on their hands. Before I saw those pics, I didn't really disagree with animal testing in the fashion industry. But now I am absolutely opposed to using animals in fashion industries.
I am an animal lover. Therefore, I am extremely against the idea of people who use animal products such as furs to be fashionable. I believe there are many ways to be beautiful without sacrificing animal, such as wearing fake fur. The problem is that it harms animals but does not greatly benefit humans. “One forty-inch-long mink coat typically requires sixty mink pelts. For this reason, millions of mink pelts are needed annually to meet consumer demand.” Can you imagine if you were the animal and you would be killed just for the sake of someone’s appearance? In the other hand, I support the idea of animal testing for drugs. Animal studies are necessary for advancing human and animal health and have played a vital role in medical development. There are several important medical products, such as drugs, vaccines, painkillers, anesthetics and surgery that can cure disease and improve the quality of our lives. These products need to be tested first before launched to the society, or else it would be risky for us to consume without knowing what effect it would give us. For this reason, I think we can’t avoid the animal testing to take place. In the end, I agree if we have to sacrifice an animal to save a human’s life, but I oppose the idea of using animals in fashion.
Although I don't like pets.. But I should say that I don't agree with animal testing in the fashion industry. Although animals are created to support human's life, but killing animal for a hat, glove or coat is not a wise thing to do. Nowadays we can use technology to make synthetic fur. This way will be we can satisfy human desire as well.
Still about animal testing, I agree with animal testing in the medical industry. the reason is because, there are probably not many animals are being used. and the animals that are used, are usually common animal (animal that are easy to regenerate). Then, the result of animal testing in medical industry will be beneficial for human, for a worth reason.
Animal testing for pharmaceutical purposes is definitely necessary. The animals used in such experiments are generally thos whose population can be controlled. Lab animals are thoroughly examined and the results are verified based on the fact that they know the animals history. If the same were done to humans than to animals....i was wondering how low the population would have been.
Cavemen wore fur because they did not have a choice. Today there is a choice, due to the invention of artificial fibres. On what were the chemicals in those fibres tested on? The animal testing has become a part of the world and is very complex.
I completely agree with Dr poste in his article.
