According to me, to abort a pre-born child due to irresponsible sex, is to commit a sin or, in this world, a crime. It should not be acceptable under any circumstances except if the pregnancy can lead to the death of the mother or if the fetus has not developed properly or normally. Apart from these circumstances, abortion is a crime. It is also a sin if the abortion is done incases of carelessness by the mother. I would call myself a “Moderate” as I think in case of a rape, it is alright to get abortion done as it is a totally unwanted child by both, man and woman. However, if the woman has the courage to give birth to the child and take care of it or give it up for adoption, it is the best. Women should be penalized if abortion is done because of careless, casual or irresponsible sex.
To my opinion, to have a child is "holly", because the ability of bearing a new life within us, women, is divine. We sacrifice ourselves to give birth to our own children; however, I think we also should have the right to decide what we want to give to our children. It is sad when a woman cannot afford to give birth to her child due to her unable situation; when a woman decides to give up on her child, I believe that she must be under a huge pressure and regret. I consider abortion as a choice not only for woman, but also for the babies. Don’t they deserve a better life? When there does not exist such a fairy-tale circumstances for a child to be born, why we push so hard to claim the baby’s so-called right? How can we know that they rather wish to be born homeless, and unloved? It does not only take a hearty society to breed a child, it takes a family, a real family. I think it’s morally right to consider an unborn’s feeling and human right, but I think it’s logically wrong that we assume the babies desire to come to the world in an unexpected and unwelcome way. It’s the mother’s fault to get into such a situation, but it’s also the mother’s choice for her child to come to the world or not. It takes a woman to be strong to afford the consequence with respectively less support and care. If it’s not ready for the woman to be a mother, and she has to face the accident when abortion is banned; then it may ruin two lives, the mother’s and the child’s. The world is real, there are further consequents, and we can’t simply assume abortion is bad for babies.
I think abortion usually occurred when the man and the woman are not really realized that what a responsible sex is. There are so many measures can be taken to avoid pregnancy. People have the right to decide whether to do the abortion, but as adults, there's plenty of times to decide before the pregnancy occur not after the woman is pregnant. They should take all the factors into account, for example, whether they are rich enough to have baby, whether the baby can live happily after he/she is born. People should take the responsibility of the pregnancy. We have the right to decide whether we should have a child, but once a woman is pregnant, I hold my opinion that the Child has the right to be born.
The one of two article, had good points. The reason the abortion is being a heated argument topic, is that our desire for freedom of sex, and our responsibility for having sex. The desire for freedom of sex is important, perhaps it is one of the factors that one kind in nature have been so dominant today, but people should think about their responsibilities after also. And when having sex was forced from one person to another, the person should also think about life of child in the womb. It is easier to understand substitute abortion for murder in the arguments that are for pro-choice. The cell that has been fertilized has to be considered as a person. Although it cannot think or move, it has a potential to be human. Like one does not go around and kill people because one wants to be free from his/her responsibility, I don’t think someone should go around and have a abortion to be free from his/her responsibility either.
Abortion is a very critical subject. Nobody can decide when it is right to abort and nobody can judge a person for doing it.
I do not have a solid side regarding abortion. I am neither pro abortion or against it. It all depends on the situation the woman is in and we cannot judge her since we do not know what she is going through. But of course, it all depends on the gravity of the situation.
With the pressure parents put on their daughters and the pressure society puts on women, it is no wonder that even with increased birth control techniques, still more women are aborting. There is also pressure from the woman’s boyfriend and from her inner beliefs, it is no surprise that woman will rather abort than confront such hate. But then again, it all depends on the situation the woman is in. Her family, her economic stability, her beliefs and the society she lives in, play a major role on her decision to abort or not.
There are a few extenuating circumstances where it might be alright to abort. Some circumstances are rape, birth control “malfunction,” health issues, etc.
On the articles, it is clearly stated that the uneducated are the ones that have the tendency to get pregnant on dire situations which leads them to abort. This is why the continents with the least education, Asia, Latin America and Africa, have constant population explosion and thus the highest abortion rates. Europe, where high level education in most countries is legally required, has the lowest abortion rates, almost 1/5 that of the Usa.
But in the end, it all comes down to the woman not being careful. If she does not desire a child then she should be overprotective.
As the human right improved, abortion has been become really critical issue. Some says abortion should be prohibited, because it disregards the life and dignity of the human being. Others say abortion is the right of individuals and let them to make their own decision. However, it is not a simple matter to decide which side is right. Respecting the life is obviously right, but deciding the abortion matter should be depending on the case by case.
I agree even a pre-born children have the human right. They have right to live and to be respected. However, what about the women who became pregnant unwillingly? I agree the people who did irresponsible sex should be responsible about the pre-born child, but what about the women who became pregnant because of rape or accident? I believe these female also have right to make a decision in their life; they have right to escape from the unfortunates.
Abortion should not be defined as good or bad, but must be considered based on case by case.
Abortion is a controversial issues that i feel hard to decide which view i should
support. i am agree with that it is an issue that about life and death. In the case
of rape, as a female, i will support abortion even i know abortion would be the second
shock for the victims who just suffering the rape things. But if these women give birth
to their babies,i think it is will not be a good way because the babies will recall these
women's such angry memory of raping. People care more about abortion is killing babies' lives,
but for those vicims, the babies whom are born after the torturous suffering will be the
encumbrances that helpe victims forget the history.
Anyway, no matter people supporting abortion or avoiding abortion, before men and women haveing sex, they
should think carefully what their reponsbilities are. There are so many ways to conception control.
i think it is better to take safety measures before having sex, so it will not persecute the women
who have contingent pregnancy.
Is abortion a personal decision? No it's not because some people often have the notion that if they gave birth to a child, they have control over their life. People have to learn to be responsible enough to only have children if they have the financial status to support them. Hence family planning is a critical in this case. Various reasons can lead to abortions. Some of them include prenatal diagnosis that determine the sex of the child. This has been an issue in India for a very long time. In a male dominating society, especially in earlier days, they preferred male child. As a male would support the family financially and carried the family name for future generations. The situation has definitely improved since then but still some differences are still there. I personally think that this reason was quite illogical but it was the social structure of the country that lead to those views among the masses. But currently there is a law against prenatal diagnosis to determine the sex of the child. Others reasons would include girls getting pregnant at a very young age and they choose to abort the child because of social and ethical reasons. I personally believe its always the women who is ill-treated or looked down upon in such cases. No one questions the father. Even if a women make a decision to abort the child, it is a wrong decision, but has anyone looked into the psychological and social issues that she has to deal with. Many a times through pre -natal tests if they determine that the child will have many health issues in his life, then during that situation what do you do? There are lots of ethical questions associated with abortion.
Abortion has been a controversial topic since a long time. Some say that it is fine to abort a child as an unborn is not a complete living being, or because it is unwanted, or rearing a child might prove uneconomical. On the other hand, people like me think that abortion is unethical, and should be banned. I believe that in some circumstances abortion might be considered acceptable, but in most of the cases it is a big crime and shouldn't be tolerated at all. In my country, India abortion is illegal but still a number of women go for it. Sometimes, a woman herself stands against it, but eventually ends up committing the crime due to family pressure and fear of the merciless society.
But, whatsoever the reasons might be, abortion is a crime and must be made illegal everywhere. There is need to educate the people, particularly the younger generation about the seriousness of the act and the ways of avoiding it.
In my opinion to kill an innocent life is very horrible and of course sinful! We should be responsible for whatever we do, and even if the pregnancy is unfavorable we definitely must not allow the abortion. I guess women better understand this problem than men. Because if you realize that there is something alive inside of you, it is hard to decide to kill a life... And as I know, women can meet not only physical health problems, but even psychological problems after the abortion. It is very hard to get used to the idea that you killed a life, killed your own innocent baby! And after the abortion, there is a high possibility that woman will be unable to give a birth again. Once I've seen a video on this topic, and it is really horrible. That's why I am against abortions.
In the end I think that it is better to prevent the problem than to find solutions for it. Not only women are responsible for unfavorable pregnancy, but they should be more careful.
As the most divisive and controversial issues of our day, abortion is not only a medical issue, but also a sociological issue. From my point of view, abortion is not encouraged or promoted, but it should be permitted under certain condition.
As all you know, China has implemented one-child policy since 1979, which made abortion is legal and common as a method to cover up the unsuccessful birth control. The policy has aroused a huge argument in the world about the humanistic issue in China and most of the western countries are total against Chinese policy, considering it as antihuman or disrespect to human right. However, first of all, we have to know the basic human right for every people is to live. No other human rights can be above the right of living. Considering the fact of China back to that time, our natural resource can’t support such a huge population. To ensure every Chinese can be alive, one-child policy, and abortion as followed, is the only thing we can do. Under this circumstance, I think abortion can be permitted, and should be permitted.
Well, under other condition, like consequence of the irresponsible sex, abortion could not be encouraged. We have to control ourselves, take the responsibility of our behaviors, and respect life.
abortion is the most highlighted and debated issues in our society. I think it legite to talk about this because of the complicacy and the depth involved in this decision.
I think that abortion cannot be totally right or totally wrong decision. i think it is very false of the girls part if she uses abortion as a birth control. It is very inhumane and sinfully. They should be more responsible with that they want. If they never wanted to have a child then they should not try to conceive one.
however, on the other side, i think it should be allowed to let her get aborted if the child is a result of rape. it does not make any sense to me to give a birth to a child and looking at him as a result of an attack. again, it would say it is not totally right. it depends to the girl or the couple if they want to raise the chil. it is a blessing to conceive one.
Sorry I am late
I disbelieve in religion, but I respect other people's religion. I can not judge the point in "Probe Ministries Abortion" and "Commonly Used Arguments for the Acceptance of Abortion and Reasons Why They Are Invalid".
I strongly agree the way that Chinese hospital doing. They exam the embryo, and tell the parents whether the embryo is healthy. But the parents can not know the baby's gender. If the embryo is disabled or with serious disease, the parents can know and decide to abortion or not. Some times an abnormal embryo may bring danger to the mother. I myself do not think the act of a woman to protect herself is guilty.
And if the a rape victim want to stop the gestation, I think she has that right. Because there is pains during pregnancy. And at the final phase of gestation, pregnant woman will lost the calcium which is stored in her bone to support the needs of the embryo. That causes acalcerosis and temporary dementia. I can not ask a woman to suffer both mentally and physiologically.
