Young drug abuse is a serious problem nowadays in many countries.
Official statistic reveals that young drug abuse is a severe problem not only in developed countries but also in developing countries. Although many factors contribute to young drug abuse, I think there are three main factors: peer pressure, bad influence of mass media and failure of education. The first reason is concerned with peer pressure. Some young people, especially at the first time, fall in drug abuse only because other people of the same age do it, they want to seem tough, feel independent, look cool or act older, just like other young persons. So they imitate. Another equally important factor lies in the negative impact of mass media, there is excessive violence and drug abuse in mass media that is misleading, exaggerative and false, teenagers are so immature, ignorant and sequacious that they are hardly distinguish right from wrong and easily go astray. Last but no least, both school and the parents fail in educating the young to keep away from the drugs, the young have no sense about the danger of the drug abuse, so when they have chance to access to the drugs, they try them easily.
Usually teens do not take illegal drug seriously because they think they are cool and special if they do that. Some teenagers use drug because they have too much stress or peer pressure, which can lead to a serious problem. Teenagers always are affected easily by surrounding friends or media, which can cause illegal drug easily. Drugs are highly addictive, so once if teenagers take it, they will start to use them until they die. Once if the teenagers get addict to the drugs, they will want them more and more. The drugs are not cheap, bur if teenagers want to have them, then they will try to steal money from their parents or lead to crimes. The articles are not really helpful for stopping drug abuse because those are just some statistic for drug using in teenagers. I think they should start thinking a way not letting people to use illegal drug. Taking care more about the teenagers is one way to isolate them from drug.
Whatever 'it' is, if you abuse, 'it' is bad for you. Especially when 'it' is addictive.
Illegal Drugs are illegal with a suitable reasons. Most of illegal drugs directly harm user's body. Two well known illegal drugs, Heroine and Ectasy directly harm user's brain.
Cocaine is very highly addictive, so it ruins your whole body in general.
Weed(Marihuana) is less addictive than cigarette but because of the side effect of it, weed smokers seek stronger drugs; thus weed is type of a stepping stone for stronger drugs, so it is banned.
And there are more drugs harm user somehow.
Anyway, because of those bad effects, they are prohibitted.
Problems with illegal drugs are mostly occured by teenagers. The curiosity they have will lead them start doing drugs and with peer pressure, it spreads out to other people. Partially, it is the education problem.
Another is, addictiveness of drugs lead drug-takers to commit crimes such as murder, theft, etc.
First of all, the biggest problem for this is that, if you know the way, getting illegal drugs are not that hard. Through the black market, drugs are distributed.
In my opinion, rather than forcing drug-takers to stop them, it would be better to destory all black markets or something.
I was not exposed much about this issue until I got to U.S.A. because illegal drug usage among the teenagers and college students was very rare in South Korea. Thus, when I first heard that there were a lot of drug dealers around Lafayette area, I was surprised. Even a small city like Lafayette is not an exception from the illegal drug problem and it can be more serious problem than that of the big cities. However, I think, I am still not deeply understood this issue because of the lack of real case experiences.
One of my guesses why it causes so much concern here in U.S.A. is its easy accessibility. As long as I know, it is not that hard to buy an illegal drug if someone wants to. Even though the University is quite strict about the possession of illegal drugs, many students get caught every year by violating the regulations.
Another reason can be the variety of illegal drugs. There are series of illegal drugs that have different levels of impact on the users. Some drugs are quite mild and not so dangerous in its physiological effect, which make them an easy starter. There are many cases that this initial exposure leads to more strong and dangerous drugs.
I believe the education is the most effective way to fight with this problem and reduce the demand for the illegal drugs. It is our responsibility to keep teenagers and community from the harm of illegal drug use.
Nowadays, the biggest problem in terms of the illegal drug use is, at least according to what I have witnessed is the access to drugs.
By this I mean, drugs are too easy to get nowadays that it even makes me think if the authorities are actually making the drugs legal.
In my opinion, the biggest issue for the government is not to aware the people about why drugs are good or bad but they should put more weight in simply keeping the drug away from being produced and distributed.
It might be true that some dealers are powerful enough to have governments on their side and therefore perpetuate the deathly cycle of "Bribe-deal with no trouble-illegal drug for people". However, I do not think that it is something that the government, if willing to do so, cannot stop it.
Therefore, I think the biggest problem that should be fixed in order to even get started with the elimination of illegal drug use is to eliinate the distribution and the production of illegal drugs
Just like many other topics that we discussed weeks before, this is also a controversial topic. The misuse of drugs, mainly without prescription, happens anywhere.
In Indonesia, the reason why people use drugs is mainly because the depression that they feel. In one side, people use drugs because they feel stressed from the pressure of life. Consequently, they need to find a way to get rid of that stress. From what I heard from the news, most drugs are sold in the night clubs and pubs. Even in the entrance you can find a young woman or fierce-looking guy offering ecstasy and other illegal drugs. These kinds of places are the center of many drug users and many of them are teenagers.
The method of selling drugs among teenagers is very slick. First, drug-dealers offered low price and encouraged them to try the illegal drugs. They might have called you coward if you refused. Being under-pressure in situation like this, most "low-self-defense" teenagers would definitely try. They then started to become addicted and couldn't live without these drugs. This was the moment where most drug-dealers waiting. They slowly increased the price of drugs and it influenced users to spend more money until they had no more. The further effect was very broad. These teenagers would start to look for money from stealing, fraud, and other criminal behaviors.
As you can see, the further effects of drug use are very broad. The teenagers who are supposed to study for their lives and their nations have fallen to a complete failure. Instead of studying, they used drugs, drinking alcohols, and made chaos everywhere. Therefore, it is encouraged for school and parents to pay attention to students and their children. The faith for the world lies within the next generation.
Nowadays usage of drugs is increasing a lot in places like universities in colleges rather than the city area. I have never witnessed or heard stories regarding drug usage frequently because it is not so casual in my country but it is different out here. Most of the drug dealers attack students as they are the ones who are alone, have enough freedom, not yet completely matured, have tremendous pressure from various parts of society. Once the students get into it then there is no other way out. I have seen a movie - "requiem for a dream" after which i thought a lot about such people. Such videos should be shown to drug abusers who would then understand the importance of life.
Drugs are probably one of the worst things that a person can do. you are just poisoning your brain with chemicals that supposedly make you feel good. I am against drugs 100%. In Honduras most of my friends that i graduated with are now doing drugs in college. I keep telling them to stop but they jus won’t listen. This has become a problem because i can’t hang out with them any more because they are high most of time. I feel that my friends and I have drifted apart because of their insatiable drug use. Now let me tell you a little story. During the summer I went back home to Honduras. There one of my closet friends offered me cocaine at this party. I could not believe that the person I considered my best friends could offer me such a harmful substance. I left that party the second he showed me that white powder and I have not spoken to him since.
Drug usage is a big problem in our society.
Teenage are very volunarble to using drugs because of their curiosity. Because of curiosity they start drinking, smoking underage. And the same thing happenes with drugs. Peer pressure is another thing that is very much related to teenage drug use. If people around you start using drug and they keep telling you to try it, you might start using drugs because of such peer pressure.
There are many movements trying to solve this situation, but they are not 100% effective. School and parents are trying their best to educate teenage students with knowledge and the consequences of drug usage. Although these teachings are affective, they don't work all the time.
I personally think it is impossible to completely get rid of drug usage for teens. No matter how much you teach them, some will try out because of the curiosity. I think the important thing is keep improving drug education to lower the teenage drug usage as much as possible.
I have learned since I was very young that illegal drug is extremely bad. I often watched the news that some famous entertainers were caught by police because of having drug. The entertainers can get the drug easily due to their fame. The drug that I know have usually hallucination symptoms and toxication, so a person who experienced the drug, he or she do not stop it. And the drug makes you temporary feel good, but later it also makes your body sick. Because this is harmful to human body, people decided it illegal. I saw a person who had experienced illegal drug feel pain because of sequela of drug. So if I meet a person who wants to have drug, I will strongly disagree to have it. The drug will ruin yourself, your family, and your friends.
Among teenagers nowadays, we know that the illegal drug use is getting worse and worse. We can now access drugs very easily. The problem is that these drugs is very addictive and ruining our body. When teenagers fall into the grasp of drugs, they will not easily be free from it. They can fall into drugs by peer pressure, lack of self confidence, unable to solve problems and depression. As we can see, the reason of teenagers falling into drugs is basically caused by psychological problems, so if we want to prevent the illegal drugs usage, we should prevent them by giving teenagers more attention so every teenagers can be told not to use drugs.
Drug consumption is a severe problem in our society. Drugs are addictive substances whose consumption can make you suffer health problems or even death; that includes alcohol and tobacco. But, appart from the problems realted to the health of the consumers, the drug consumption brings two problems even bigger. Firstly the ilegal drug traffic, which is an activity that is used to subsidise terrorist activities or corrupted political regimes. Secondly, if the drug consumption is an usual activity for a generation, the economy of the country or the community will suffer a serious crisis. In the end, drugs are not good for the individual, but they are even worse for the society.
